The Mistress of Spices

It's reading season now, and I will notes about some exiting books I read.

Vanilla beans soaked soft in goat's milk and rubbed on the wristbone can guard against the evil eye.
A measure of pepper at the foot of the bed, shaped into a crescent, cures you of nightmare

The first one here is Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni's The Mistress of Spices. A story revealing a magic secret about eastern spices and along with that also revealing stories of deepest desire and fear under the chain of tradition. This is the link to a review from IndiaStar

My opinion : very interesting and lovely... very ecsotic, powerful yet so lonely....sometimes its also very depreesed, it touch my heart deeply....
It's about traditions that you praise and you curse
It's about people you hate so much yet love the most
It's about....
       excepting yourself
